ST. LOUIS (KMOX) -- Another sign of summer is here.
Officials with the St.
"We've had positive confirmations in Calverton Park, Castlepoint, Dellwood, Florissant, Mehlville and Webster Groves," said Craig LeFebvre, St. Louis County Health Department spokesman. "And it's a reminder that we need to keep the mosquito population down."
There are a variety of ways to do that.
"Making sure there's no standing water on your property is one good way," said LeFebvre. "Another is to spray clothing with repellents to make sure you don't get bitten by mosquitoes."
Also, wear long sleeve shirts, long pants and light colored-clothing outdoors. And make sure you repair any tears in door and window screens.
LeFebvre says these positive sightings are no cause for alarm and are traditionally seen around this time of the year.
In the past week, similar positive mosquito pools have been confirmed in Jefferson County, MIssouri, and St. Clair County, Illinois.
